En 1952, despu\u00e9s de que un tr\u00e1gico incendio acabara con su zapater\u00eda, lo que alguna vez fue el orgullo de Don Miguel qued\u00f3 reducido a cenizas. Despu\u00e9s de 14 largos a\u00f1os de lucha e incertidumbre, Don Miguel tomar\u00eda la decisi\u00f3n de emprender su viaje a Estados Unidos con el fin de encontrar mejores oportunidades de vida para su esposa y sus hijos. A\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, Don Miguel volvi\u00f3 a ser propietario de un negocio, ya que en 1980 abri\u00f3 el primer Mercado Northgate. Transformar una antigua licorer\u00eda en una tienda de comestibles no era tarea f\u00e1cil, pero este no ser\u00eda el primer ni \u00faltimo reto al que se enfrentar\u00edan Don Miguel y el resto de su familia.
