CLAM CHOWDER SOUP

Ingredients

unsalted butter
2 tbsp.
white onion, chopped
1
celery stalks

flour
3 tbsp.
chicken or vegetable broth
2 cups
clams
1 cup
sour cream
1 cup
medium potatoes
1 lb.
bay leaves
2
salt
pepper
croutons

Easy Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add chopped onion and chopped celery and sauté until tender, stirring gently.
  2. Add the flour evenly, keep stirring; add broth, clam juice, sour cream, bay leaves and the previously peeled and cubed potatoes.
  3. Lower heat while you keep stirring until it thickens. Cook for 20 minutes stirring frequently until potatoes are tender.
  4. Add chopped clams and season as desired. Cook for 2 minutes.
